Akagera National Park

Akagera National Park is home to the largest game collection in Rwanda. The land was originally set aside by the Belgians and place to scientifically study animals.  The learned later that they would need to open it as a tourist attraction for its financial support.   Today we are honored to share this park with it regrowing population.  In 2015 Lions were reintroduced to the park and are now doing well. This is the first time the park has had lions in 15 years.  The park soon hopes to also reintroduce the Rhino’s.   With the return of rhino’s Akagera will also be a BIG FIVE park.  Akagera also boasts of an amazing collection of birds and a wonderful and diverse set of eco-systems.
